Academic Year Program

Vartry School of English offer the opportunity for pupils to immerse themselves in one of Ireland’s secondary school.  Pupils have the choice to attend secondary school for 3 academic months or for a full academic year.  While staying with a local host family, the pupil will attend and follow the Irish secondary school curriculum, as well as participate in the schools extra-curricular activities and sports.

 

The academic program is an incredible opportunity for a pupil to learn English amongst his/her peers and also to learn a wide and varied curriculum in the English language.  As well as the time spent at home with their host family, this program provides a unique opportunity for pupils to learn English.

 

Pupils attend secondary school Monday to Friday from 9a.m to 4p.m, they also have the opportunity at school to participate in the huge variety of extra-curricular and sports activities after school.  The weekends are dedicated to the host families, who are carefully selected by the Vartry School of English.

In 4th Year, all students follow a Transition Year Programme. It has a special curriculum which, while maintaining standards in essential subjects, provides an opportunity for personal development and growth in maturity by offering a wider range of subjects and activities – a balance between academic, non-academic and aesthetic programmes.

 

Apart from the usual academic subjects studied from a slightly different aspect, all students who enrol in 4th year will study:
